Manganese is absolutely essential for normal growth in both plants and animals:
Feed Premixes: Manganese oxide (ore grade) added to livestock feeds, particularly for poultry and swine, supplements natural intake assuring healthy, vigorous growth.
Fertilizer: When soil is manganese deficient, citrus and soybean crops suffer. Dry applications employ manganese in the form of manganous oxide. For spraying applications requiring water solubility, farmers prefer manganese sulfate or nitrate solution.
Plant Protection Products: Against mildew and other diseases of grapes, olives, and other crops, some contact fungicides are used. The best results are obtained with copper-based compounds, more particularly copper oxychloride. |
